With the clear intention of preserving the environment and the area surrounding the plant, Calenia Energia has implemented a network of continuous monitoring in collaboration with the relevant authorities to keep a check on the quantities of potential pollutants introduced into the atmosphere (CO2, NOx, dust) from the various production sites in the region.

In particular, a network of control units has been installed throughout the area surrounding the power plant to gather pollution-related data. The results of the monitoring activities are fed into a special centralised computer system for processing in accordance with the provisions of current legislation and the agreements made with the relevant local authorities (ARPAC).

Thanks to this efficient system, local governments can participate actively in the monitoring process, verifying compliance with current legislation and intervening when the air quality shows signs of becoming critical.
